From Vallehermoso square, take the street that goes up to the right of the Central café, and then go up the Valle gran Rey road to the Cuartel de la guardia civil. Then turn towards the cemetery and just before it go down the path towards Santa Clara, cross the bridge and then go up the barranco de La Era Nueva, formerly Barranco de los Franceses. After a section in the middle of euhorbia, sagebrush, the low-growing vegetation characteristic of medium-altitude areas gives way to fayal brezal which borders the forest. After passing through the forest, the path leads to the hermitage of Santa Clara.

Follow the path which passes by a place equipped for picnics on the left of the chapel. The view of the seaside and the tip of Arguamul is impressive. If the weather is clear you can see the island of La Palma in the distance. The forest then gives way to more arid terrain before emerging on a track dominated by a structure of nets intended to collect the water brought by the trade winds. Below we can see the rock of Los Organos which can only be appreciated from the sea. borders the creek. Follow the track in the middle of the garden along the stream and in the shade of the palm trees. The Botanical Garden is on the edge and a small wooden bridge provides access. Continue to the road where you can reach it by a staircase.

Continue on the track in the middle of ocher land furrowed by erosion. The hermitage of Coromoto is in the middle of the hike which arrives at the end of the cliff from where you can see the whole northwestern part of the island as well as the Teide in the distance on the sea and La Palma if weather permitting.

Climb up to the watchtower to take full advantage of the panorama. Go back down.

Go back down the dirt track.

Go up the dirt track towards Santa Clara (GR132). On the right the old hamlet of Chijeré. After passing the hermitage of La Coromoto, there is a large water tank surmounted by a structure of nets intended to collect the water brought by the trade winds. On the right the path to Santa Clara. Straight on the track towards Santa Clara and Vallehermoso por el Lomo San Pedro.

Follow the track towards Santa Clara until at the junction, on the left towards Vallehermoso by the Lomo San Pedro. Straight Santa Clara.
